The 2016 Annual Meeting of the IAAPOC 19th -21st of May in Memphis, TN
The 26th Annual Meeting of the IAAPOC was a rousing success. The event started Thursday morning with the annual golf tournament that serves as a fund raiser for the Sam D. Benson Scholarship. The scholarship is given annually to a deserving student(s) in Prosthetics and Orthotics. The Scholarship honors Mr. Sam D. Benson, C.O. who was the first President of the IAAPOC. Thursday evening a welcome reception was held at Crowne Plaza Memphis.
The scientific sessions started on Friday with an introduction by Jack Steele, President of the IAAPOC. He was followed by a multitude of excellent presentations. Also in attendance were numerous professional vendors including Daniel Hickey of Bulldog Tools. Bulldog Tools, a family owned and operated company (American Owned & American Made) that specializes in designing, engineering, and the manufacturing of high quality P&O products was this year’s Gold Sponsor. Thank you Bulldog Tools.
Friday night concluded with a reception and presentation of the IAAPOC Lifetime Achievement Award to Otis Petties. Mr. Petties was one of the Founding Fathers of the IAAPOC and severed as the IAAPOC Treasurer for more than twenty years. He is still an active member and on the Board of Directors.
