For the second year in a row the IAAPOC held a Networking Social Reception at the Annual Meeting of the AAOP. Held Friday night, the event was well attended by more than 35 members and guest who enjoyed a variety of foods and drinks at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville

.

Alpha Sanusi, BOCPO, President of the IAAPOC, addressed the gathering of supporters. He emphasized the organization continuing mission to promote the field of P&O in the community, provide networking and camaraderie among practitioners, and to provide scholarships to deserving students in MSOP programs.

Board member Amandi Rhett, MS, CPO(L) announced that the 2024 IAAPOC  Annual Meeting will be held next year in Houston, TX.  Amandi will graciously host the event. The date to be announce soon.

The “business” portion of the reception concluded with the scholarship presentation. Board Member and a founding member of the organization Jack Steele, CO, FAAOP(L)  read a statement from Mr. Sam Benson for whom the scholarship is named. Mr. Benson was the first President of the IAAPOC. The newest member to the IAAPOC’s  Board of Directors Adrienne W. Hill, MHA, CPO(L) presented the names of the three recipients of the 2022-23 Sam D. Benson Scholarship .  Morgan Harris (Baylor), Claudine Humure (University of Washington), and Jasmyn Palmer (Kennesaw State University) each receive $1000 from the scholarship fund.
